Birthday Punting in Cambridge for Amanda Holden and Tamzin Outhwaite

Britain’s got Talent judge Amanda Holden joins ex-EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite for a birthday punt on the River Cam with Rutherfords Punting Company.

Amanda Holden and Tamzin Outhwaite went punting on the river Cam with Rutherford’s to celebrate Tamzin’s birthday in style with members of the cast of Stepping Out.

The occasion was bolstered with everyone enjoying a luxury chocolate cake supplied by Patisserie Valerie on Bridge Street, which Amanda purchased before their boat trip.

On the day (Saturday November 5th) the temperature had dropped down to an un-seasonally chilly 7 degrees. The task of braving the cold weather for a celebratory day on the water in Cambridge was made pleasurable with hot water bottles and warm blankets.

The group of friends sang a loud happy birthday to Outhwaite while passing King’s College.

Amanda’s true motherly instincts took over on the day as our chauffeurs Josh Chappel and Pip Richards noted. Amanda ensured everyone was catered for, feeding fellow passengers slices of cake by passing plates full of cake around between the two chauffeured punts on the river.

It was clear to see that the group enjoyed their 50 minute trip along the river, as they posed for impressive selfies after cutting up the cake.

It was a pleasure for us at Rutherford’s to provide the punts and supply 20 hot water bottles to keep everyone toasty and warm. The group told us after their tour how they had all thoroughly enjoyed their day on the water, and just what a difference it made having the hot water bottles to hand.

Owner Emma Wynne said: “It was an absolute pleasure taking the girls out and they were just so much fun.”

“They were just lovely, so warm and kind and Amanda has already tweeted us to say she had a good time.”
