Punting is Back – We’re Reopening!
We’ve all been through this together and whilst we’re facing a tough year we want to say thank you to everyone for following the guidelines and helping us make it to where we are now!
We’re excited to announce that we will be opening once more from Saturday the 4th July, as ever, in line with the latest government advice.
This post is an update for those looking for the latest punting information following on from our temporary Coronavirus closure way back in March 2020.
Firstly, Hurrah! Punting is coming back to Cambridge after the only pause since the traditional activity began in the early 1900s.
We’re excited to once again be offering all our tours, giving you the fantastic mental health break that you’ve been waiting for all this time!
We’ll ensure a relaxing tour with safety measures built in to your experience as you relish in the great outdoors and take the opportunity to see the prestigious College Backs.
Our website now has the latest booking availability live – so we’re all set to whisk you away on either our luxury private tour bookings or on our new evolution of our shared tour punting offer – the best way to see the College Backs on a shoestring safely!
We’re continually updating our plans according to the Government Guidelines and as you’d expect, have reassessed all policies, risk assessments and ways of working in line with the latest social distancing recommendations.
This post is our update to you on how we’re going to open and what you can expect when you visit us.
You can book all our private punting experiences online. Your boat will be ready for you at our Jesus Green Moorings with your tour guide on the day, at the time you select.
Your guide will be wearing PPE as per the latest guidelines. Tours are temporarily without our usual blankets and lumbar supports so that our boats and cushions are fully cleaned in between each tour.
If you are from more than one household or support bubble, you’ll need to give us a call after making your booking to let us know, so that we can add a protective perspex screen to your punt to ensure adequate separation between groups.
Our usual Terms apply.
If you have an unused walk-up shared tickets (the original style), please get in touch at email@example.com as they can no longer be used on these terms.
We’ve fully reviewed our shared tour experiences in the light of the current guidelines. We used this opportunity to reinvent them to ensure that they offer fantastic and safe experiences for those looking to see the world-famous College Backs on a shoestring budget.
The evolution of shared punting tour tickets is now for punt rows according to your requirements Each row comfortably seats up to three people. Walk up tickets are no longer available and instead you’ll be booking in for a date and time.
As you’d expect, your boat will be ready for you at our Jesus Green Moorings with your tour guide on the day, at the time you select.
Your social distancing is protected from any others on the boat as we have installed a perspex screen to separate customer groups.
As with our private tours, your guide will be wearing PPE as per the latest guidelines. Our boats and cushions are fully cleaned in between each tour and as a temporary measure, we will not be using any blankets or lumbar supports.
Our usual Terms apply.
