Prices

Prices and offers on our website or offline may update from time to time. If the tour or ticket you have booked goes up or down in price, you will be unaffected. There will be no refunds or partial refunds, equally you will not be asked to pay any extra.

Transferability

Your tickets and bookings are transferable to another person. With our shared tours, you can give away your ticket and the lucky receiver can head straight to see our team on the Quayside. What’s included?

Your booking fee or ticket price includes the full chauffeured tour experience as described on the website page or within your communications with the Rutherford’s Team. Punts

Our boats will be dressed with cushions, lumbar supports and blankets, with umbrellas, additional blankets and hot water bottles available depending on the weather. Our boats seat a maximum of 12 people and larger parties will tour on separate punts.

Opening Hours

We are open from 1st February till the 31st December from 9:30am till dusk, weather and river conditions allowing.

Unexpected Closures

Very occasionally, we will choose to close if we assess a risk from extreme conditions to either customers or for our team. If this should happen, we will let all bookings know at the soonest opportunity. Bookings will have the opportunity to rebook or to claim a full refund.

Inclement Weather

Our boats are well armed against light showers and come equipped with extra woollen blankets and hot water bottles on cooler days. We very rarely have to close due to extreme weather or river conditions, but will refund you fully if this happens and you do not wish to rebook.

Safety

You must follow the instructions of your guide on the day. Our team are trained and will give you safety guidance on the day. Punts are designed for stability and are extremely unlikely to capsize. Lifejackets are available on request. Smoking is not permitted on the moorings, nor in the punts.

Accessibility

Punts are not suitable for wheelchair access due to the steps that must be negotiated on the moorings and due to the traditional boat design. Our team can assist passengers with limited mobility to board and disembark. For more information, please view our Accessibility Statement

Children

Children must be accompanied at all times. Please ensure that children with you keep their hands inside the boat to prevent injuries. On all our boats, children of all ages count towards the boat maximum of 12 persons.

Dogs

We welcome dogs on our tours. it’s a great day out with your best friend. If you’re planning on joining a shared tour, we’ll need to check with other passengers first. Private tours offer the best way to ensure your departure time and a more exclusive experience!

Withdrawal of Service

In the unlikely situation that we have to withdraw a service that you have booked (for example, a partner closes down), we will contact you directly with alternative choices or a full refund.

Complaints

Liability

We hold all required insurances for our business activities. Please note that to the extent permitted by law, our team shall not be liable for any claims, losses, damages or injuries, sustained or incurred on the experience including on the moorings.

SHARED TOUR EXPERIENCES

Using Your Ticket

Save your ticket to your phone wallet or screen shot the completion page. You’ll need to tell your order number to our team on arrival. The team will be able to look up your ticket by your name if you have lost or misplaced your order number.

When is my tour?

Shared tours do not have a time, you’ll be booked onto the next available tour on arrival to our Quayside Bookings Desk. On summer days, tours leave every 15 minutes and in quieter times there may be up to 45 minutes between tours.

Your ticket is valid for seats on the next available tour. Please bear in mind that on peak summer and national holiday days the wait may be up to 2 hours. Peak times are between 12pm and 4pm on busy days. Our team will let you know when your boat will be departing so that you can best enjoy the Quayside area before your tour.

Refunds

Shared tour tickets are non-refundable, unless we close unexpectedly (due to unforeseen river or weather conditions) on the day that you arrive to take your tour. Please call 01223 322 200 to speak to our team.

Expired Tickets

Our shared tickets are non refundable but can be used at any point within their validity period on a walk up basis. If your ticket is set to expire, they usually have 6 month validity period. Get in touch on 01223 322 200. If you have found a ticket that has already expired, I’m afraid you’ve missed the boat this time!

Ticket Pricing

Adult tickets are for anyone between the ages of 17 and 59. Shared tour child tickets are required for children aged 4 to 16 years. Children under 4 travel for free. We offer concessions for students, seniors and more – take a look at our concession information.

PRIVATE TOUR EXPERIENCES

Your Booking

Bookings are reserved under your name at the time and place that you requested. Online bookings will also have an order number. The team will be able to look up your booking using your name if you have lost or misplaced your booking details.

Late Arrivals

We will hold your punt for you for 15 minutes, after this point it wouldn’t be possible to go on the tour as this would mean missing our later bookings. Please note that your tour will be shorter so that you arrive back at the moorings at the arranged time. Call us on 01223 322 200 if you’re going to be late and we’ll try to reorganise for you.

No Shows

If you do not show up or you arrive later than 15 minutes without prior notice we will count your tour as a ‘no show’ forfeit. We do not offer full or partial refunds in this situation.

Cancellations

Bookings for our private tour experiences must be cancelled with more than 48 hours notice for a full refund. If cancelling with more than 24 hours notice we will refund 50%. There is no refund or partial refund available for same day cancellations, although in special circumstances we may reorganise your tour for a later date – see rescheduling.

Rescheduling

You can make changes, additions and reschedule (availability depending) the time and dates for your private bookings up to 24 hours in advance of your tour, please call 01223 322 200. If you really need to reschedule (availability depending) your booking less than 24 hours before, you’ll need to pay a £50 reschedule fee.

Bad Weather Day

If you’re not keen to continue with your booking on a day that we are open, our standard cancellations or rescheduling policy applies..
